CITY

Currents, lengths, distances

Streets, wheels, windows

Lights

Passing

trough me

Steps

Paths, flows, echoes

... and us in the city.

Belonging to ourselves,  rushing

Alone

We don’t see, don’t  arrive

Don’t  encounter

Quiet behind the barriers, in silence

We pass, do not stop

Do not give, do not offer

We just drip

About the play:

The dance play City was created after a number of activities that helped us explore how we perceive city space. Our impressions where in some ways similar but in some where different because the city is not only the sum of those who live in it but it has his own will, character, atmosphere, face and underground. It is well-intentioned for some bur not so welcoming for others. It all depends on where  you are coming from, what part you live in, what age are you, what are your habits and wishes. This difference also exists on the stage because the performers differ in gender, background, attitude toward life, life experience, possibilities and limits they have, the way the approach art, the education they have, are they a person with disability... The city they live in is what they have in common.

We hope that this play will be contribution to the intentions for inclusion people with disability in the work of professional theatres and that the shows they perform in will become part of regular repertoire in Belgrade. Performers with disability we selected during workshops that where organized by association Silver Tree with the help of the group "Let's".
